Born 11 April 1958 in Brisbane, QLD
Married to wife Lorraine with three children- Troy, Stacey and Sally
Mark has held numerous positions within the ALP and the union movement. Prior to entering the Senate, Mark was the State Secretary of the National Union of Workers QLD branch. Mark supports community activism and is involved in various organisations and fundraisers some of which include Relay for Life Queensland Cancer Council, Clean up Australia Day, the Lions Club, multicultural and humanitarian groups and so on. Mark is also heavily involved in Indigenous affairs and has been a strong advocate of reconciliation.
